JAMIE
BROZA
|
When not writing songs for kids, Jamie can be found scoring music for film and television projects. Broza’s compositions and arrangements have been honored with four Emmy Awards and a Clio Award. He recently wrote the score to the feature film Bart Got A Room, a comedy starring William H. Macy and Cheryl Hines, and has produced the music for the Rebecca Miller dramas The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and The Ballad of Jack and Rose, starring Daniel Day Lewis. His compositions underscore the HBO documentaries Death On A Factory Farm, The Alzheimer's Project - Momentum In Science, Dealing Dogs , Methodonia, and the Adrian Grenier directed Shot In The Dark. Jamie also scored Fire and Ice, directed by Ben Strout, a moving film about the 1939 war between the Soviet Union and Finland that won the Best Documentary award at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival. Jamie was associte music director of the 2009 Tony Awards and has arranged for such luminaries as Smokey Robinson, Burt Bacharach, Michael Bolton, and Tevin Campbell.

Natalie
Robinson-Whylie
(MOM
- Are We There Yet?, Backround Vocals)
|
|
Ms.
Robinson-Whylie started singing at the ripe old age of 4
in church -- is there any other place? She studied opera
for 4 years. By the time she was10, she had joined the Harlem
Children's Theatre Company. During her three years with
the company, she performed at the Public Theatre, was seen
on "Like It Is" with Gil Noble and toured
to Lagos, Nigeria.
After
graduating from college Ms. Robinson-Whylie joined the Shadow
Box Theatre Company, where she starred in three productions.
While at the Shadow Box Theatre she met two gentleman who
changed her life: Nellson Moore and Ardie Walser. They came
together with Ms. Whylie to form "Black Tie,"
a locally acclaimed R&B and jazz vocal trio.
During
the mid-nineties, Ms. Robinson-Whylie decided that being
on stage was great, but "behind the scenes" was
even more exciting. She took some classes and realized that
sound engineering was going to be her next foray into the
music business. She has worked at the Apollo Theatre, Dream
Factory, CAMI Hall and, more recently at Manhattan Beach
Recording Studios as one of their assistant engineers and
studio manager.
Ms.
Robinson-Whylie recently opened her own recording studio,
Alkemist Brew Recording, located in New Jersey. She notes
that the time spent at Manhattan Beach Recording Studios
and working with Jamie Broza was excellent preparation for
her new venture.
Finally,
she would like to say that Bad Mood Mom captured
a side of her that she didn't think she had. Well her son
Chris could tell a different tale, but ... let's just say
it was a wonderful release.

Michael
Rohatyn
(electric guitar Im Six, Its Complicated,
Intro Solo to Bad Mood Mom)
|
| Not
just a guitarist, but an accomplished composer as well, Michael
has scored music for the films The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, The Ballad of Jack and Rose, Angela (Sundance Filmmaker's
Trophy, 1995)and Personal Velocity (Sundance Grand
Jury Prize, 2003), as well as The Delta (Sundance Official
Selection, 1998) and many short films. However let this not
detract from the award he is most proud of: third-place in
the Toad's Place, New Haven 1985 Guitarist-of-the-Year contest.
Feels so good, even after all these years. |
